Mahaguru: Jurnal Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar is an academic journal devoted to the publication and dissemination of scholarly works in the field of elementary school teacher education. The journal provides an academic forum for lecturers, researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students to communicate research findings, conceptual studies, literature-based discussions, and critical reflections related to the theory, policy, and practice of primary education.

The journal welcomes manuscripts discussing a broad range of issues in primary education, including curriculum and instruction, teaching and learning in elementary schools, child-centered pedagogy, educational media, classroom assessment, inclusive education, character education, literacy and numeracy, teacher professionalism, educational leadership, and innovation in basic education.

Mahaguru also gives special attention to studies on elementary education in remote, rural, frontier, and underserved areas, including teaching and learning practices in sekolah pelosok, limited-resource classrooms, contextual pedagogy for geographically isolated communities, and teacher challenges in providing equitable and meaningful learning opportunities in diverse local settings.
