Mahaguru: Jurnal Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar is an academic journal devoted to the publication and dissemination of scholarly works in the field of elementary school teacher education. The journal serves as a scientific forum for lecturers, researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students to communicate research findings, conceptual studies, literature-based discussions, and critical reflections related to the development of theory, policy, and practice in primary education.

The journal welcomes manuscripts discussing a broad range of issues in elementary education, including curriculum and instruction, teaching and learning in primary schools, child-centered pedagogy, educational media, classroom assessment, literacy and numeracy, inclusive education, character education, teacher professionalism, school leadership, educational innovation, and other relevant studies that contribute to the advancement of elementary school education.

Mahaguru also gives special attention to studies related to schools in remote, rural, frontier, and underserved areas, including learning practices in sekolah pelosok, contextual pedagogy in geographically isolated settings, educational equity, local wisdom in primary learning, and teacher challenges in providing meaningful education under limited-resource conditions.
