Local food carries nutritional, economic, ecological, and cultural value that can provide an authentic context for elementary school learning. However, food education is often discussed separately through nutrition education, school gardens, local procurement, and community-based learning. This article develops a conceptual model for integrating local food into elementary school learning by connecting curriculum, experiential activities, and community partnerships. A narrative review and conceptual synthesis were conducted using relevant literature on school-based food and nutrition education, school gardening, farm-to-school initiatives, place-based learning, and elementary teacher education. Sources were selected for substantive relevance and analyzed thematically to identify core components, learning mechanisms, enabling conditions, and intended outcomes. The synthesis generated five model components: mapping local food assets, cross-curricular integration, authentic learning experiences, school-family-community partnerships, and reflection with sustainable action. The model is designed to foster food literacy, nutrition understanding, process skills, appreciation of local culture, and sustainability awareness. Implementation requires teacher capacity, supportive school policy, food-safety considerations, and collaboration with local producers. The proposed framework provides a pedagogical basis for field testing in elementary schools and for preparing prospective teachers to design contextual learning grounded in local resources.
