AUTHOR GUIDELINES

DIFERENSIAL: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika

General Submission Rules

DIFERENSIAL: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts in the field of mathematics education. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The journal publishes scholarly works relevant to mathematics teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, and other related educational issues. Manuscripts may be submitted in Bahasa Indonesia or English through the official online journal system.

All submissions must follow the journal’s ethical standards, writing guidelines, and official manuscript template. Only manuscripts that comply with the required journal format and editorial style will be processed further. 

Authors are strongly encouraged to proofread their manuscripts carefully before submission to ensure clarity, coherence, grammatical accuracy, and academic consistency.

Types of Articles

The journal accepts the following types of articles:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical or theoretical studies related to mathematics education.
  • Literature Reviews: Critical reviews of current scholarship and developments in mathematics education.
  • Methodology Papers: Articles discussing innovative or improved research methods relevant to mathematics education.
  • Case Studies: Practical and context-based studies in mathematics teaching and learning.
  • Research Notes: Concise scholarly contributions relevant to mathematics education.

The journal’s coverage includes research in mathematics education, research notes, literature reviews, and relevant studies in mathematics teaching and learning. 

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the official journal template and formatting requirements.
  • The manuscript adheres to APA style for citation and referencing.
  • The manuscript is written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  • All authors are properly acknowledged and have approved the submission.
  • The manuscript includes all essential components in one file, including tables, figures, and references.
  • The manuscript has been checked carefully for grammar, clarity, and academic style.

Every submission must follow the journal’s writing guidelines and official template. 

Manuscript Length

The recommended length of manuscripts is as follows:

  • Research Articles: 6,000–8,000 words
  • Review Articles / Conceptual Papers: 4,000–7,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 750–2,500 words

The word count includes the main text, abstract, references, tables, figures, and appendices. 

Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format as a single file. The manuscript should use Times New Roman, 12 pt, with 1.5 line spacing and 1 inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.

Authors should ensure that the file is clean and final, without unresolved comments, tracked changes, or editing notes before submission.

Language and Grammar

The manuscript must be written in clear academic English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are encouraged to use formal, consistent, and grammatically correct academic language. Grammar, punctuation, diction, and sentence structure should be checked carefully before submission, and professional language editing may be used when needed.

Style and Layout

The manuscript should use the following layout:

  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: standard margins on all sides
  • Font: Cambria, 12 pt for the main text
  • Footnotes: Cambria, 10 pt
  • Alignment: left-justified
  • Layout: single column
  • Line spacing: single-spaced

Authors should apply layout consistently throughout the manuscript. 

Indenting, Headings, and Footnotes

Each paragraph should be indented by 0.5 inches. Headings and subheadings should follow APA style and be used consistently to reflect the manuscript structure.

Footnotes should be used sparingly and only when essential. They should be placed at the bottom of the page and should not substitute for important content that belongs in the main text.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be inserted in the manuscript near the sections where they are first referenced. They must be numbered consecutively, provided with clear titles or captions, and explicitly discussed in the main text.

Authors must ensure that all figures are legible, of good quality, and suitable for publication in both digital display and standard document format.

References

All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and all entries in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript. References must follow APA Style (7th edition) for in-text citations and reference list formatting. Authors are responsible for ensuring the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of bibliographic data.

Copyright and License

By submitting a manuscript to DIFERENSIAL: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, authors confirm that they hold the necessary rights to the submitted work and that the manuscript does not infringe the copyright of others. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material used in the manuscript.

The journal site states that published works are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
