Maspul Journal of English Studies (MAJESTY)

1. Requirements for Publication

Maspul Journal of English Studies (MAJESTY) publishes scholarly work that makes a clear contribution to the development of knowledge and practice in the broad field of English studies. To be considered for publication, a manuscript must:

  1. demonstrate academic rigor, supported by relevant and up-to-date literature, and be clearly positioned within existing research or theoretical discussions;
  2. show originality, novelty, or meaningful contribution through empirical research, conceptual development, critical analysis, or innovative practice;
  3. present well-developed ideas in a coherent, systematic, and well-organized argument written in clear English;
  4. be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope, including English language teaching, applied linguistics, linguistics, literature, translation, literacy, discourse studies, cultural studies, and related fields; and
  5. follow the journal’s submission requirements, ethical policies, and formatting guidelines.

Submitted manuscripts must comply with all requirements stated in the journal’s policies and Author Guidelines. Manuscripts are accepted only through the journal’s online submission system and must follow the current APA citation and referencing style unless otherwise specified in the journal guidelines.

2. First Steps Before Submission

Before submitting a manuscript to Maspul Journal of English Studies (MAJESTY), authors are expected to:

  1. review the journal’s Focus and Scope to ensure that the manuscript is suitable for MAJESTY;
  2. read and understand the journal’s License and Copyright Notice;
  3. carefully review the Author Guidelines before preparing and submitting the manuscript;
  4. ensure full compliance with the journal’s ethical standards and general obligations for authors;
  5. prepare the manuscript in accordance with the required format, structure, and referencing style; and
  6. proofread the manuscript carefully for grammar, clarity, and academic style before submission.

Where appropriate, authors are also encouraged to deposit research data, supplementary materials, or supporting documents in a reliable repository and provide links or identifiers to improve transparency and scholarly accessibility.

3. General Obligations for Authors

Authors are expected to uphold high standards of academic integrity, clarity, and responsibility throughout the preparation and submission of their manuscripts.

  1. Authors must present an accurate, clear, and objective account of the research or scholarly work conducted, together with a meaningful discussion of its significance.
  2. Manuscripts should contain sufficient detail, explanation, and references to enable readers and other researchers to understand, evaluate, and, where relevant, replicate the study or scholarly procedure.
  3. Papers should be written as concisely as possible without compromising academic quality, clarity, or completeness. A well-structured abstract is strongly encouraged.
  4. Manuscripts must be written in English, and authors are responsible for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and academic style throughout the text.
  5. Authors must properly acknowledge the works, ideas, and publications that have influenced their study. All sources must be cited accurately and consistently.
  6. Information obtained privately through conversation, correspondence, or discussion must not be used or reported without explicit permission from the source. Confidential information obtained through peer review or other privileged academic processes must be treated with strict confidentiality.
  7. Manuscripts should present coherent arguments, maintain logical consistency, and avoid unsupported claims, contradictions, or misleading interpretation.
  8. Authors must not submit substantially the same manuscript or report of the same research simultaneously to more than one journal.
  9. Critique of previously published work may be academically justified, but it must remain scholarly, respectful, and evidence-based. Personal criticism is inappropriate.
  10. Only individuals who have made significant academic contributions to the research and manuscript preparation should be listed as authors.
  11. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission.
  12. No individual who has not contributed substantially to the work should be included as an author, and no qualified contributor should be excluded.
  13. Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, institutional, professional, or personal, that may influence the interpretation or presentation of the work.
  14. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  15. If the manuscript reports research involving human participants, authors must ensure that the research was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles and institutional requirements, and that informed consent was obtained where necessary.
  16. Authors should be prepared to make corrections or clarifications if significant errors are identified before or after publication.
4. Submission Statement

By submitting a manuscript to Maspul Journal of English Studies (MAJESTY), authors confirm that:

  1. the manuscript is original and has not been published previously in any form;
  2. the manuscript is not currently under consideration by another journal or publisher;
  3. all authors have approved the submission and agree to the journal’s editorial and ethical policies; and
  4. the manuscript complies with the journal’s formatting, citation, and ethical requirements.
