Strategi Internalisasi Nilai-Nilai Moderasi Beragama dan Penguatan Karakter Generasi Z dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam: Studi Kasus di Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Enrekang

Abstract

The digital disruption era and polarization of religious narratives on social media challenge Islamic education to strengthen Generation Z character through moderation and inclusivity. This study analyzes strategies for internalizing religious moderation and strengthening the character of Generation Z santri through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Enrekang, South Sulawesi. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model with source and methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that religious moderation is internalized through the Progressive Boarding Tri-Pillar Integration Model: intracurricular learning using Case-Based Learning and comparative jurisprudence; co-curricular P5-PPRA projects integrating moderation with Massenrempulu local wisdom, particularly Tobana and Sipakatau; and extracurricular activities supported by 24-hour dormitory habituation through Hizbul Wathan, Tapak Suci, muhadhoroh, and digital dakwah. This integration strengthens wasathiyyah character through theological commitment, tolerance, civility, and national commitment.
